If you're in search of a versatile R&B talent look no further than the Houston native Dende. He has the ability to sing with so much emotion and conviction; you’ll have no issue believing every lyric he sings. His versatility is what keeps his fans yearning for more. His personality will also draw you in. Going viral on Tik Tok numerous times just for his humor, and being Arby’s unofficial sponsor on the Twitter Timeline. There's never a dull moment when you follow Dende.
My introduction to Dende’s music was his song DrkSkin from his 2021 EP A Happy Man. A very soulful track that's an ode to black women. This track features star rapper Chris Patrick, and vocals from Lakeita Valon that beautifully compliments everyone's voices. If you're new to Dende’s music, A Happy Man is the perfect start to explore his catalog. Dende proves his vocal strength matches his pen. It will be a difficult task to pick just one favorite track from this project. If I had to pick one outside of DrkSkin, it would be Phone Number. A posse cut featuring Cross Roads (CXR) and The Good Partners family with features from CXR star rapper Chris Patrick, and the Good Partners Siren Bairi. Dende’s and Bairi's voices compliment each other so well, like when the yams touch the mac and cheese on thanksgiving.

Dende came back in 2021 with another project called the Pregnancy Pack, which was one of my favorite projects of 2021. The project starts with a soulful duet Cheri featuring another beloved Houston native Lilly Aviana. Her warm vocals add so much depth to the track. Her voice feels like a warm hug from your favorite person, or as she describes “the warmth of coquito hitting your chest”. In the next track Most Days Dende's ability to evoke emotions in his vocals shines through. Dende decides to bless our ears with another duet in S E X, this time featuring the talented Susan Carol. The fan favorite track from this project is Candy, his songwriting, and vocal abilities will definitely make you a fan if you were not convinced by now. He sings with so much conviction fans are still wondering what type of strawberry wine was it? Are we talking a Merlot, a Zinfandel, or a Moscato the world needs to know Dende? The CXR, Good Partner cousins reunite for the track On The Low with a feature from Bairi. She has one of my favorite cadences and verses on this track, and I love how she stacks her vocals; You’ll definitely understand why we call her Bairi the Siren. The project closes with a feature from Cam Hayden in Thinkin Bout Me. In what can be described as modern day dirty mackin’.
Dende has garnered the respect of his peers and stars alike. Early this year there was a collaboration with artist Deante’ Hitchcock (one of my favorite artists) on his raunchy song Neck Up. We are once again blessed with the CXR, Good Partners Cousins Dende and Bairi who both killed their verses on this track. Dende shows his ability to be a chameleon and adjust his style, and approach to match the vibe of this track. The track streamed well, on Spotify alone earning 1.2 mil streams, and another 32k views for the music video. This combination of Dende and Deante worked so well they are collaborating again with their single titled Georgia dropping December 7th.
Dende is definitely a rising star and generational talent you need to keep your eyes on. He’s making amazing music, and putting smiles on countless peoples faces with his unique humor. With a voice, and a pen like his R&B is far from dead. R&B had a rebirth and Dende is one of the front runners for the current generation of R&B talent.
